What is an annual?
An annual inspection is just that, an
inspection of your aircraft each 12 months. This inspection is
performed per the FAA inspection
criteria.
An annual inspection may include:
-
Researching the
aircraft history to determine if all airworthiness directives have been
complied with. Research is also performed on any additions, alterations and
upgrades to ensure proper documentation and authorization. If this is the
first time we have performed an annual on your aircraft this may take time
as it is required that all possible ADs be researched to determine if they
are applicable to your aircraft model and serial number.
-
Removing, cleaning
and inspecting your spark plugs. Any discrepancies on the plugs are noted
for later remedy.
-
Removal of inspection
panels. We will also remove the seats and some of the
carpeting to access panels in the floorboards.
-
Inspection of all
items outlined by the manufacturer and the FAA.
-
Sign off by an
authorized inspector that the inspection was performed per the FAA and that all items are within specification.
-
What is not included
but is recommended is an oil and oil filter change. This should be done
between 25-50 hours anyway, so why not perform it during the annual. This
will be noted separately on the invoice.
Any squawks that may arise out of the inspection are noted
and the customer is informed of the
extent of the squawks. No work is performed beyond this point without the
specific approval of the owner or designated agent.
